Nick Currie scored the winner and added an assist as the Greater Stratford Gulls downed the John Brown Bootleggers to win the 3rd Division Championship with a 5-2 win on Monday night at Cody Banks Arena.
The Gulls had to win two straight games against the Bootleggers to win the title after dropping a game earlier in the playoffs. The format for the 11-team 3rd division is a seeded double elimination bracket.
Monday's game concluded the 27-team Queens County Rec League season which was interrupted twice due to circuit breaker measures for Covid-19.
